I am a retired teacher. I left school at 16, and was a British Telecom Engineer for ten years before going back to education and finally qualifying as a teacher in my late twenties, at the University of Cambridge. Life is busy with walking, cycling, learning classical guitar, learning Italian, cooking and, as you can see here, writing! As well as books, I also write a travel blog which you can see at shouldigo2.com.
All my books have flowed from personal experience. I’d say ‘write what you know’ is useful advice. The exception to this guidance is ‘Following Gilgamesh’, as I have never been a space archaeologist or a time traveller. However, like most science fiction, the heart of the story is the present, not the future.
The idea behind this site is to gather my all books in one place and so you find out what they’re about. It will give people a chance to read some excerpts and get a flavour of the story. There will be links to the Amazon website to buy the eBook or paperback.
The books aren’t expensive. I publish them myself with the help of Amazon and a few other agencies. Consequently, there are no agents, publishers, or advertising people taking a cut. I know that, as an independent author, I won’t make enough to cover the cost of my websites. It doesn’t bother me. I write for the love of writing.
Thanks for reading.
